Seattle Center: 2021 Naturalization Ceremony 

Seattle Center hosts the 36th Annual Naturalization Ceremony, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, July 2nd, and invites the public to observe livestream as The Honorable Ricardo S. Martinez, Chief U.S. District Judge, swears in 60 candidates as new citizens of the United States of America. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services District 41 Director Anne Corsano will present the candidates at this event which reaffirms the meaning of United States citizenship. It is an important day for the new citizens, who come from diverse cultures across the globe, to make the United States–and Seattle–their new home. Seattle Center will also be re-broadcasting the livestream on July 4th at 12 p.m.

So I just got out of my oath ceremony today! And here is the citizenship certificate! So I am officially a US citizen starting now! A little bit about the ceremony. It was unfortunate that due to Covid, the ceremony has to be concise - no speech, no special guest speakers - it has to be kept pretty simple. There were only 16 people in the room with me and we did the oath and they started passing out the citizenship certificates. Fast, simple and here I am! Throughout our history, the United States has welcomed immigrants from all over the world who have helped shape and define our country. Granting citizenship to eligible lawful permanent residents is vital to our nation’s security, economic prosperity, and a future built on the principles of the U.S. Constitution.

In keeping with Executive Order on Restoring Faith in Our Legal Immigration Systems and Strengthening Integration and Inclusion Efforts for New Americans (E.O. 14012), USCIS is chairing a Naturalization Working Group that includes the:

• U.S. Department of Homeland Security;
• U.S. Department of Agriculture;
• U.S. Department of Defense;
• U.S. Department of Education;
• U.S. Department of Health and Human Services;
• U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development;
• U.S. Department of Justice;
• U.S. Department of Labor;
• U.S. Department of State;
• U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; and
• U.S. Social Security Administration.
