New citizens sworn in during COVID-19 pandemic

Six new United States citizens went through the naturalization ceremony today, May 12, 2020 on the steps of the York County Courthouse in York, Pa. Judge Clyde Vedder administered the oath with the new citizens wearing face masks and practicing social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. The normal swearing in ceremony would have been inside the courthouse with dozens of new citizens and their families crowded together but because of the pandemic the county will hold five more ceremonies on the steps spread out during the month of May.
