2017-2018 Citizenship Classes
On August 21, 2017, Milpiitas Adult School started our Fall semester. I am teaching a Citizenship class Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45-9:00 pm. If you would like to attend the class, you must register and take a CASAS placement test (score ESL 4 or higher). Contact Milpitas Adult School for further information.
If you cannot attend the class, I will post resources from each class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at uscitizenpod.com. You can also watch our class videos on uscitizenpod YouTube channel, subscribe to our podcast via iTunes or Stitcher, or download our free app for your Android or Apple iPhone.
You can also buy my new book US Citizenship Bootcamp: Exercises and Quizzes to Pass the Naturalization Interview as an EBOOK from Smashwords or Apple iBook or you can buy the new PAPERBACK edition from ESLPublishing.com.
2016-2017 Citizenship Classes
From August 15, 2016 to June 1, 2017 I taught a Citizenship class at Milpitas Adult School. We used a combination of resources from USCIS and SI.edu, textbooks such as "Voices of Freedom" and Lynn Weintraub's "Citizenship:Ready for the Interview," and many uscitizenpod's pdfs, mp3s, and videos. See the 2016-2017 Citizenship Classes for each class lesson plan and resource.
From July 5-July 21, 2017, I taught a combined ESL 2 and 3 class at Milpitas Adult School. We took this opportunity to study ESL/Citizenship and read "Holding the Bag," an ESL novel set in Washington DC that had many links to study for the Citizenship interview. After the class ended, we continued to post EdPuzzles of the VOA Learning English Presidents videos. On August 21, 2017, we started the new school year. ESL 1 students will continue to study a little citizenship every day. For more info, see: Beginning Level Citizenship Classes

USCIS Resources for Adult Citizenship Educators
To help programs and educators develop high quality citizenship instruction courses, USCIS has created a series of products to provide support at every stage of course development. The Guide to the Adult Citizenship Education Content Standards and Foundation Skills, The Sample Citizenship Curriculum for an Adult Low Beginning ESL Level Course, and the USCIS Civics Lesson Plans cover subjects ranging from naturalization eligibility requirements to the naturalization interview and test.
